About Us

Rockwall County Helping Hands is the main social service provider for Rockwall County residents. For more than 30 years the agency has been making a difference in the lives of Rockwall County residents.

The essence of Rockwall County Helping Hands is the Assistance and Referral Program. The assistance program provides Rockwall County residents in financial crisis with strategic financial assistance for critical needs. Assistance is available for electric, water, and gas bills as well as rent and mortgage payments.  Access to our food pantry is also available for those needing assistance with food.

Transient assistance is provided with Salvation Army funds collected during the holiday kettle drive. Helping Hands, in cooperation with local law enforcement officials, is able to purchase bus tickets and pay for meals and overnight motel stays for people who are stranded in Rockwall.

The Health Center of Helping Hands provides primary health services to those that are underserved in the Rockwall community. The Health Center is not free, but it provides affordable healthcare with low cost office visits and labs.  Our Family Nurse Practitioners work with several local volunteer physicians and can provide referrals when necessary. Management of chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure, annual sports physicals and flu shots are just some services provided at the health center.

The Thrift Stores of Helping Hands are the best bargain stores in the Metroplex and East Texas. Donors are residents of Rockwall County who generously support the resale shops all year. From large used furniture and household goods to gently worn clothing for everyone, the stores are fully stocked all of the time. The Boutique, located in the Rockwall store, is filled with collectibles and other treasurers. The Thrift Store of Helping Hands in Royse City is conveniently located on Interstate 30 with easy access to those driving by.
