Assistance and Referral is the core program of Helping Hands. The program serves Rockwall County residents in financial crisis. Financial relief is pledged for critical needs as part of a strategic plan that is worked out between the applicant and a Helping Hands volunteer or staff member.
Helping Hands is committed to providing sufficient resources to make a significant difference for families in Rockwall County. Through the Assistance and Referral office, clients receive assistance with utilities, shelter, food, clothes, furniture and household items. Staff often works in partnership with other agencies to provide relief to clients in times of crisis.
Bilingual services (Spanish) are available Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 10-12 on Wednesdays. Clients are welcome to bring an interpreter (must be at least 18 years old) on other days.
Trained volunteers are critical to this program and provide the support, energy and care so vital to serving those who come in need.
