    Information & Referral

Helping Hands is the primary information and referral provider for Rockwall County. We connect applicants to the appropriate resources and agencies that can provide more specific help. Many other state agencies and community-based organizations work in partnership with Helping Hands to provide relief to our clients.

Two important sources are the Rockwall County Resource Directory, which is maintained and published by Helping Hands, and the Texas 211 Information and Referral Line.

    Our Mission

    Financial Assistance

Helping Hands provides financial assistance from utility bills and shelter to backpacks and school supplies. We also offer assistance with food from the pantry, clothes, household items, and furniture.

At times, Helping Hands provides other assistance such as educational classes for budgeting, finance, and nutrition.

Interviewers consider each client’s situation and try to provide assistance that will best enable the client to meet their needs.

    Emergency Assistance Application Process

Any Rockwall County resident needing assistance is welcome at the Assistance and Referral Office of Helping Hands.

Providing the required information or participating in an interview, however, is not a guarantee that assistance will be provided.
