General Medical Clinic
Since individuals who cannot access affordable healthcare have higher rates of high blood pressure, heart and lung diseases, diabetes and asthma, chronic disease management is a specialty of the Center. Nurse Practitioners spend time educating patients about their conditions and best ways to take care of themselves. Follow-up visits are encouraged.
Children´s health is also an emphasis of the Center since sick children miss days at school while their parents lose days at work. Vaccinations, sports physicals and well child check-ups are available at low costs. Eye exams and dental exams are arranged with partner providers for those who need them but cannot afford to pay. Rockwall Women´s League provides a significant award to Helping Hands to provide healthcare to children in Rockwall who would otherwise not be able to access services.
