Tidy up and donate your stuff! Your donations to Rockwall County Helping Hands help fund our important programs, like the Food Pantry, Health Center, and Emergency Assistance.
Best Items To Donate
- Books in good condition
- Clothes that are clean and free of holes and stains
- Electronics in working order
- Furniture in good repair
- Handbags and fashion accessories
- Household items that are not chipped or broken
- Home décor in good condition
- Lawn and garden equipment
- Art
- Jewelry
- Shoes
- Toys and games
What not to donate
- Hazardous waste (lead acid batteries, paints, fuels, solvents, oils, etc.)
- Built-in kitchen appliances
- Construction debris
- Electronic devices containing lead and mercury
- Household or industrial chemicals
- Inoperable lawn or garden equipment
- Large appliances that are not fully operational
- Stained, soiled, or damaged mattresses or those more than 5 years old
- Tires
- Box TVs of any size
- Wall-to-wall carpeting or hard surface flooring materials
- Any broken or damaged item that we cannot sell
Helping Hands employees may decline a donation if it is broken, dirty, or in otherwise unsalable condition.
Drop-Off Donations
We have set up a new process around our parking lot to get to the Donation Drop Off Area. Our goal is to free up some parking spaces near the building and alleviate traffic back ups on HWY 66. We have put out extra signs to help guide you through our new route.
